2. Start with the top of your
bush or shrubs. Cut then level all the way across
the top. It is not a bad idea to once in while
step away and see how level it is.
3. Now work your way around the
edges of the bushes. Try to trim off no more that
3 inches per cutting pass. Remember you can always
go over it again but if you trim too much off
your bushes you will have to start over.
4. Now you need to collect up
your bush trimmings and place them in garbage
bags. In Phoenix your bush and yard waste are
supposed to be in bags, not just thrown in the
dumpster.
5. In the summer here in Phoenix,
AZ you will need to trim your bushes probably
at least every two weeks or so. In the winter
here you can probably just trim them once a month
or so.
6. Don’t try to shape your
bush into exotic shapes unless you have experience
doing this. You damage your bush or actually make
it grow not just right.
7. We always use sharpened shears.
This is easy on your plant and creates a crisp
look.
8. We always start trimming our
bushes at the top.
9. Then we move to the edges.
Once it has a symmetrical shape we then pick up
the yard waste.
